How Long Does Invisalign Take?
The short answer? Anywhere from 3 to 24 months. If you wore braces as a kid but your teeth have shifted, we can generally correct that within 3 to 6 months. Moderate corrections can take a year and advanced corrections, or cases that require invisalign refinements, may take 18 to 24 months. Every patient is different, so the best way to find out how long it will take to achieve your perfect smile is to come in for your free consultation!
How Does Invisalign Work?
Invisalign works by applying light, continuous forces on your teeth to move them gradually into a new position based on a treatment plan you and Dr. Lombard will create together. We start with a 3D scan to map the precise location of your teeth, and then use that scan to create the plastic Invisalign trays that move your teeth into their new position. Over the course of your treatment, you will change your trays every two weeks. After treatment, you will wear a retainer every day for the first 4 months, and then at night for however long you want your new smile to last!
How Much Does Invisalign Cost?
The cost of Invisalign treatment is correlated to the complexity of your case, but generally speaking you can expect to spend between $2,500 and $6,500. Keep in mind, because Invisalign isn’t just about cosmetics, your insurance may cover a portion of your treatment cost. During your free consultation, our staff can help you determine whether your treatment might be eligible for insurance coverage. If insurance isn’t an option for, you can use a flex spending or health savings account to pay for treatment using pre-tax income. Keep that in mind during your next open enrollment period.
Is Invisalign Teen a Good Option for My Child?
Many parents wonder if their child is a candidate for Invisalign, or if traditional braces would be more appropriate.
